Council Showdown: March 21 – 25, 2016

Every week, Bramptonist will be rounding up the interesting items on upcoming city council and committee meetings, so you don’t have to bore yourselves with tedious PDFs.

All meetings are open to the public (aside from closed items), and are generally held in the City Council Chambers, unless stated otherwise.

Committee of Adjustment

March 22, 9:00 a.m.

Council Chambers, City Hall

Issues in Brief

  • The Tu Thuyen Ni Tu Vietnamese Buddhist Association of Canada at 241 Queen Street West is seeking permission to build a very small place of worship in the back of their site with only 9 parking spots (bylaw accommodates larger spaces with 17 parking spots minimum)
  • Another “commercial school” (driving school, tutoring academy, etc) is seeking permission to locate at 239 Queen East, where zoning doesn’t permit it
  • The owners of the Old Shoe Factory at 57 Mill Street North are seeking zoning permission to allow a medical office
  • The northwest corner of Queen/McVean could be the temporary home for construction trailers and shipping containers, likely for this development

Agenda with reports available here.
