One person has been arrested after a vehicle sped through a red light and struck several cars in Downtown Brampton Saturday evening.
The crash happened close to Four Corners (Queen and Main) shortly after 6 p.m. as pedestrians were heading to and from various activities Downtown, including a family movie at Garden Square.

Peel Regional Police reports that a vehicle ran through a red light at Nelson and Main, colliding with three vehicles before rolling over.
The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene on foot but was caught by police shortly after and arrested.
No one was injured during the incident, but a family in one of the cars struck were visibly shaken up.

This isn’t the first incident of its kind in Downtown Brampton, with its narrow streets and short sidewalks. Just last week a male suffered life-threatening injuries after driving his car into Brampton city hall.
Main Street between Nelson and Queen remain closed as police continues to investigate.
