Jane’s Walk is a series of neighbourhood walking tours named after urban activist and writer Jane Jacobs. Jane’s Walks are held annually during the first weekend in May to coincide with her birthday.
Three walks will be happening in the city on May 7, details are as follows:
A family walk, approximately 2km. Meet at Gage Park by the large fountain
A bit of a longer walk than walk 1. Walkers will explore the downtown core and discuss improvements over the years as well as view a few old heritage homes along the way.
Walk three will take place along the Etobicoke Creek and explore the past and future of the creek. The conversation will explore its evolution into a concrete space and its future plans as a riverwalk and public space.
Come out and explore the neighbourhoods and history surrounding Downtown Brampton as well as engage in discussion about the city’s future plans and growth.
