Family Day snowstorm on the way

Monday, February 15 is Family Day in Ontario, and the Region of Peel is forecasted to see a lot of snow. According to Environment Canada, it could make for treacherous travel conditions.

They are forecasting up to 25 centimetres of snow for Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga by Tuesday, Feb. 16, along with a snowfall warning for Peel and Halton.

Snow is likely to start coming down late Sunday, February 14, and then the warning says to expect “another round of even heavier snow…Monday evening”. Environment Canada says to expect it to persist until Tuesday morning.

They also advise residents to expect “quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.”

It goes on to say that “surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”
