Earlier today, February 14 at 9:30 a.m., Wards 1 & 5 Regional Councillors Rowena Santos and Paul Vicente revealed the first Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) sign in Ward 1. Brampton Fire Chief Boyes and Peel Superintendent Sean Mckenna were also in attendance.

During the sign unveiling, the councillors discussed what the program means and the next steps are in order to make Brampton a safer place for everyone.

The City of Brampton has a zero-tolerance policy on speeding and is working on installing ASE in order to maintain a safe community. Following the 90-day notification, ASE will be operational, capturing and recording images of any vehicles driving over the appropriate posted speed limit on roads.

The new sign is at Vodden Street East, west of Centre Street on the south side (Duggan Park parking lot).
