Get out them Running Shoes …and “Run for #Brampton”

.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association of Canada organizes a number of charity runs across Canada. The “Run for Brampton” is to be held this Sunday, October 9th at 9 am. The start line is at Chinguacousy Park.

This year’s run is raising money in support of local food banks, old age homes, and women shelters across the City of Brampton.

In recent years, the Run for Brampton has attracted both serious and casual participants. The runners typically come out with their families and friends and enjoy the day’s festivities. There are 1 km, 3 km and 6 km races, so everyone can join in.

On September 24th, the City of Brampton renamed the park located at Brisdale Drive and Remembrance Road, the Ahmadiyya Park in honour of the immense contributions to the Brampton community.

The renaming recognizes Brampton’s Ahmadiyya Muslim community and their contributions to the community, such as the Neighbourhood Helper Program, blood donation clinics, and the local food bank drives. It also a welcoming organization that invites all Bramptonians each year to their Canada Day celebrations at the Mubarak Mosque.

As Mayor Patrick Brown describes, “Everywhere the Ahmadiyya community goes, they want to look at ways to support the community”.
