After the excitement of Black Friday and Cyber Monday ebb away, here comes Giving Tuesday.
Tuesday, December 3 is known as the Global Day of Giving, and people in 60 countries worldwide are participating this year.
Giving Tuesday encourages donations and volunteering in support of charities and not-for-profit organizations, so you can join the movement dedicated to giving back.
In fact, did you know that 100% of the equipment inside a hospital is funded by the community? This year, William Osler Health System Foundation is encouraging members of the public to donate to their local hospitals. These donations will help fund needed and frequently used equipment like wheelchairs at the emergency room.
They cost $500 each, but every gift adds up and makes a difference. Olser Foundation needs your help to purchase 30 new wheelchairs.
Wheelchairs are integral for patients, whether it’s a mother going into labour, a child with a broken leg, a teen with a sports injury, or patient injured at work, wheelchairs provide them with mobility and comfort into and through the hospital.
