Help Needed to Identify Shooter’s Accomplice in Brampton Incident

December 12, 2023 Following a recent shooting near Rutherford Road South and Clark Boulevard, Peel Regional Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the second suspect involved in the incident.

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, around 3:37 a.m., two individuals entered a local business, where one suspect displayed and discharged a firearm, shooting multiple rounds into the establishment. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Quick police response led to the arrest of Tanmanjot Gill, a 23-year-old man from Abbotsford, BC.

However, a second suspect remains at large. Described as a South Asian male with a medium build, black hair, and a full beard, he wore a grey sweatshirt during the incident, later changing to a black sweatshirt with a large white “X” on the back.

If spotted, authorities advise against approaching the suspect due to potential armament. Instead, citizens are urged to contact 9-1-1 immediately.

Tanmanjot Gill has been charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Discharge Firearm in Reckless Manner
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X2
