The holiday season in Brampton looks different than in years past, due to COVID. Thankfully there are ways to connect with friends and family that don’t involve spreading the virus. Here are some Peel Art Gallery Museum + Archives (PAMA) activities you can do either with kids or for some grownup time.
Virtual Calligraphy and Cocktails – Thursday, Dec. 10, 7 – 9 p.m.
PAMA is hosting this calligraphy workshop for adults. It is for beginners and it’s great timing if you want to decorate gifts or send a handmade card. Attendees will learn to create delicate brush text with Pinya Letters’ Jovie Galit as they sip on the drink of their choice. Prices: public: $20, members: $17, pre-registration required. Create Together: Winter Break Family Fun Activities are downloadable activities for all ages that will be available for download on December 21, 2020
This family activity will let you explore art, culture and history from home with a variety of easy and fun-filled activities for all ages. Using simple materials, PAMA provides step-by-step instructions for art activities, games and fun things to try. The winter break fun is all free and can be found on December 21 on the museum website calendar here once they go live.
Holiday Activity Kits are affordable packages you can pick up for use at home. These three are available between December 14 and 18:
- Snowy Slime Activity Kit
- Relief Printmaking Activity Kit
- Pinch Pot Snow People Activity Kit
The kits are recommended for ages 6 and over, and you must register. The packages include instructions, fun facts from the PAMA collection and all the materials needed to create a snow-inspired project during winter break. Prices: public: $6 + HST, member: $5 + HST. 1 kit per registration.
