The day Bramptonians have been waiting for with bated breath came last week with the official announcement of a Ryerson-Sheridan partnership to build a second post-secondary campus in the city.
The province announced $90 million for a campus headed for the southeast corner of Church Street West and Mill Street North, where the current Brampton GO parking lot is.
The above rendering maps out exactly where the university will go, as well as the city’s future Centre for Innovation which, in addition to a $150 million funding commitment, received the go-ahead from council last year.
Last month Bramptonist speculated about where the campus would go after a Metrolinx board meeting dropped hints that the area around Brampton GO was being considered by Ryerson.
The second rendering shows what downtown Brampton may look like with a university and Centre for Innovation looking south towards city hall.
