The annual Brampton Winter Lights Festival and Santa Claus Parade are always spectacles behold.

This year the festival runs on Friday, November 15, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Brampton. This public event is free.

Things kick off at 6:00 p.m., and the big event, the tree-lighting ceremony, takes place in Ken Whillans Square at 8:00 p.m. You’ll see a giant spruce tree, towering at 60-feet tall, which will be lighted with over 10,000 holiday lights.

Stage events during the festival will include live performances from music, arts and dance studios, showcasing the diversity of local talent. Mayor Brown and Members of the Council will give a short address before the tree-lighting.

The ambience created by the Winter Festival is perfect for taking it all in: the joyous entertainment, the winter carnival, and the outdoor Christmas Market at Garden Square. Residents and visitors can shop at the market for unique gift items and sumptuous treats. The market runs from Friday, November 15 to Saturday, November 16, and the Santa Claus parade happens on November 16 at 5 p.m., too.
