If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to salsa, merengue or bachata, here’s your chance.

Salsa Café, located in downtown Brampton on the upper level of 46 Main St. N. above Segovia Coffee, hosts club-style Latin dance classes for adults including, salsa, bachata, merengue and chacha.

The classes are ideal for all skill levels, from experts looking to improve their technique and style to beginners who have never set foot on a dance floor.

Salsa Café offers a drop-in group class, private lessons, and classes for children as well. Classes are usually available three times a week.

Lessons run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Beginners can expect an overview of dance techniques and have the opportunity to try them out. Intermediate classes focus on more intricate step combos, hand dexterity, and other skills.

The dance studio is located above Segovia Coffee, which is an independent Latin coffee shop located in Downtown Brampton. It promotes Latin culture through its single-origin coffee grown in the mountains of Nicaragua, with music, and with art and crafts made by Latin artisans. The collaboration with Salsa Café was a natural fit.

Salsa Café also hosts live music and dancing on weekends around the corner at Pos Bueno Mexican Restaurant, located at 36 George Street South where students and salsa lovers can put their new moves into practice.
