Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Monday since termperatures are expected to soar above 30 degrees in Brampton and the surrounding area.
A warm and humid airmass is moving into Southen Ontario, causing Its the first heat wave of the season. It’s expected to run for much of Monday, well into the evening hours.
Temperatures will reach 30 degrees celcuis. Throw in the humidex and it’s expected to feel like 38 degrees. Daytime hours will also have a high UV index, which will sit at 9.

Envionment Canada recommends drinking lots of water and cold liquids, as well as keep yourself cool by dressing for the weather and not spending too much time in direct sunlight.
The agency warns that older aduts, infants and young children and people with chronic illnisses are at an increased risk for sun stroke and other heat-related issues.
In addition to the heat, Environment Canada also released a warning of potentially high levels of air pollution. The heat will increase ground-level ozone concentrations which causes smog, which in turn can irritate eyes and the respiratory sysem.
