Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s Miracle on Main Street Brightens Brampton’s Holiday Season

November 18, 2023 – As the holiday season approaches, the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF) successfully kicked off the festive spirit with its annual Miracle on Main Street event in downtown Brampton on Friday, November 17th.

The event, presented by The City of Brampton and supported by Gateway Chevrolet, unfolded as a part of the Winter Lights Festival Presented by Fieldgate Developments. Thousands gathered in downtown Brampton to experience the wonder of the Winter Lights Festival, where admission was free with the donation of an unwrapped new toy.

The Miracle on Main Street, held in Gage Park at Main Street South and Wellington Street, proved to be an engaging and inclusive holiday festival and charity toy drive aimed at supporting local children and families in need. The evening was filled with free amusement rides, live entertainment, local vendors, a petting zoo, pony rides, a tree lighting ceremony, and even opportunities for photos with Santa.

Wrestling’s living legend, Tiger Jeet Singh, along with former WWE superstar Tiger Ali Singh, were special guest appearances, adding a touch of star power to the event. Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, Peel Police Chief Nish, members of Peel Police, Brampton Fire Department, Peel EMS, dignitaries, and other celebrities also joined the festivities.

The official Tree Lighting Ceremony, presented by Alectra, took place in Ken Whillans Square at 6:45 pm, marking the beginning of the holiday countdown. The 60-foot spruce tree adorned with over 10,000 lights illuminated the square, creating a magical atmosphere for all attendees. Gage Park, transformed into a winter wonderland with over 145,000 sparkling LED lights, provided an enchanting holiday light experience.

Market on Main, presented by Downtown BIA, allowed attendees to shop for unique and handcrafted items from local businesses, adding a touch of local flair to the festivities.

Behind the scenes, the TJSF, with the support of Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, the City of Brampton, and a partnership with Police Chief Nish and Peel Regional Police, aimed to raise a record number of toy donations for children and families living in Brampton. TJSF, living up to its commitment, does not charge any administrative fees, ensuring that 100% of the donations raised will directly support families in need in Brampton, as well as children admitted to Brampton Civic Hospital over the holidays.

Former WWE superstar Tiger Ali Singh, a key attraction of the event, brought his unique flair to the celebration. For the past 14 years, he has used his celebrity to promote inclusion, attending school assemblies and donning a red Santa coat, red turban, and his world championship belt to spread the message of “Merry Christmas” for all to hear. His motto, adopted by TJSF, echoes the sentiment that “Sickness and poverty don’t discriminate; neither should the spirit of giving.”

The Winter Lights Festival, documented through a vibrant Photo and Video Gallery, showcased the joy and excitement of the evening, capturing the true essence of the holiday spirit.

The TJSF continues to accept online donations until December 21, 2023, along with new, unwrapped toy donations and gift cards at various drop-off locations. Every contribution ensures that 100% of the donations go back into supporting the Brampton community.

As the Miracle on Main Street event concludes, the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation looks forward to making a lasting impact on the lives of families and children in Brampton, embodying the true spirit of giving during this holiday season.
