February 12, 2024 – Sheridan College has announced the appointment of Mary Vaughan as its new Provost and Vice President Academic. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in higher education, Vaughan brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to innovation to her new role.
Vaughan’s impressive background includes serving as the Senior Vice President, Academic and Student Success at Lambton College, where she led transformative initiatives and earned global recognition for the institution’s academic excellence. Prior to her tenure at Lambton, she held key leadership positions at Seneca and the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar, demonstrating a consistent dedication to advancing student success and program quality.
“I am excited to embark on this new journey with Sheridan,” Vaughan remarked upon her appointment. “I fervently believe in the innovation, student-centered education, and career readiness that characterize Ontario colleges.”
Vaughan Adds More Impressive Female Leadership to Sheridan
Dr. Janet Morrison, President and Vice Chancellor of Sheridan, expressed her enthusiasm for Vaughan’s appointment, emphasizing her track record of inspired leadership and academic innovation. “Mary’s expertise will bolster our community’s resilience and further underpin our commitment to excellence and inclusivity,” stated Dr. Morrison.

Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Higher Education, Vaughan holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Education, with her academic journey beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences. She is scheduled to assume her role as Provost on April 1, 2024.
