Segovia Coffee, an independent cafe, is about to open its doors for the first time on Main Street North.

Segovia is owned by Nicaraguan natives who have been successfully selling and distributing their coffee online and in select coffee shops for the past few years. This is their first cafe and they plan to have their coffees–imported from Nicaragua–available at their Brampton store.

Segovia will sell coffee (of course) and other goodies, as well as artisan products and artwork from Nicaraguan artists, helping to directly support them.

The shop at 46 Main Street North (in the old T By Daniel location), should open to the public in July.

Brampton has an abundance of Starbucks and Tim Horton’s, but not very many independent coffee shops, cafes and tea houses. Even so, they seem to be popping up one by one, and Segovia looks to be a nice addition.

You can keep an eye on their progress on their Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook pages.
