Scam Highlight: Canada Revenue Agency

One of the most commons scams that Peel Police are highlighting for people to be aware of is one involving the Canada Revenue Agency.

Fraudsters, posing as Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) agents, deploy convincing tactics to obtain personal information. Emails mimic official communications, even displaying government logos.

The CRA put out a video to help educate people on the problem:

Remember, the CRA won’t solicit personal data via email or urge clicking on suspicious links. Avoid such requests and verify through the official CRA website if you are unsure or think anything is amiss.

This Fraud Prevention Month, help spread awareness to friends and family to combat this crime.
