Peel Region Picks Up Christmas Trees Starting Next Week

January 2, 2024 – Ready to bid farewell to your festive foliage? Peel Region is all set to roll out its Christmas tree collection service, hitting curbside pickup from the upcoming week.

Wondering when the collection elves will swing by? Check your trusty waste collection calendar to nail down your specific pickup day.

Before you toss your tree out, here are the ground rules:

  1. Size: If your tree tops 3 m. (10 ft.), it must be cut in half.
  2. Bare is Best: Strip off the plastic bags, ornaments, tinsel, nails, wires, and tree stands
  3. Snow-Free Zone: Keep trees away from snowbanks – no chilling behind or on them.

Apartment or condo dweller? No worries. Park your Christmas tree at the curb near your driveway entrance. Just make sure it doesn’t block the road or sidewalk.

Now, here’s a backup plan for the forgetful bunch. If you miss the curbside rendezvous, haul your tree to your nearest Community Recycling Centre (CRC). Remember, tall trees need a trim to 3 m. (10 ft.), and don’t forget the decluttering ritual – adieu to tinsel, ornaments, plastic bags, nails, wires, and tree stands.

Peel Region is all set to make post-holiday cleanup a breeze. Mark your calendars, check your curb, and let the tree collection festivities begin!
