If a trip to Brampton’s DriveTest centre for a G1, G2 or G test is in your near future, you’d better start packing your snacks and maybe a lawn chair, because wait times are skyrocketing once again.

It was just a few months ago that Brampton’s DriveTest centre extended its hours to stay open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays to help with the long wait times.

Currently, Brampton’s DriveTest centre is shared between Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon, serving hundreds of thousands of people every year. The Ministry of Transportation also announced it would be opening a new DriveTest centre this August as a more permanent solution to the crazy wait times. The new centre has yet to open, though.

The longer operating hours temporarily alleviated the long lineups, but the busy summer months has lineups wrapped around the building these days. Visitors to the test centre are reporting wait times for up to 2 and a half hours.

August is often a busy time for the DriveTest centre as students rush to get their¬†G1 and G2 tests completed before heading back to school, so if you’re planning a trip to the centre anytime soon, you may want to hold off until September or wait until the new DriveTest centre in Mississauga opens.
