J. Red & Co, one of Brampton’s hottest new restaurants and an easy crowd favourite has completely shook up the food scene with their innovative take on some eclectic Canadian classics. Aside from their pretty spectacular menu, they also serve up a pretty mean brunch on the weekends.
If you’re looking for a place to brunch in Brampton that’s outside of the realm of typical breakfast fare, pancakes, eggs, grits, then you’ll want to check out J. Red.

The Nitty Gritty
The poached eggs tostada is a crispy tortilla shell topped with a poached farm egg made to your liking (I had mine medium), chorizo sausage and a chipotle hollandaise sauce.
The poached egg was cooked perfectly, not too runny, but just enough. The chipotle hollandaise paired with the chorizo sausage is what brings the dish to life. Both give the dish a really nice kick, with just enough spice. The dish comes with two poached eggs, a serving of Mexican rice and beans as well as a side salad. All in all, delicious.
If your visit happens to overlap with lunch, that menu is also available. This happened to us, so naturally we had to throw in an order of the Mac & Cheese Samosas as we waited for brunch to arrive. No regrets there.
And there were definitely no regrets about the Nutella Pizza we enjoyed for dessert. It features Nutella (naturally) on their delicious pizza dough. It’s put in their wood fired oven and then served with a sprinkling of icing sugar. Nutella fans will approve, no doubt!
Their brunch menu is made up of mostly savoury options, including an eggs benny, a breakfast pizza and a few other options. The one sweet offering is a deep-fried french toast served with banana jam, Nutella maple syrup and mascarpone
J. Red serves brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
