The road to opening was no easy feat for Carve Social House. As owner Pauline tells us, the journey though trying, proved to be a great learning opportunity. Now, two years later, Carve is getting ready for it’s debut on the Brampton food scene and bringing with it the city’s first rooftop patio.
Carve Social House will open up at 15 Main Street North, where the once popular Green Cup Cafe was located. The old historical building needed a facelift and Carve has completely re-finished the space to create something seriously spectacular.
The restaurant is three levels, two of which will be used for dining indoors. The street level is equipped with a giant window that opens up onto the street to allow for prime people watching. It also provides a great view of Garden Square.
Up the beautifully redone staircase you’ll find the upper level, which also offer great views of Garden Square as well as any street events that may happen throughout the year.
Both levels of the restaurant are equipped with great bars, both classic wood with granite countertops. The furniture, decor and fixtures give off a very rustic vibe. They even managed to preserve the original ceiling of the building installed back in the 1800s.
Carve will base its menu loosely off of English carveries. A carvery is a restaurant where cooked meat is freshly sliced to order for customers. Their take on the concept will include farm fresh, delicious, healthy meals like turkey, roast beef and so on.
Now onto the rooftop patio! The patio is located on the upper back portion of the space. It overlooks George Street and offers a great view of old city hall, the new west tower and lots of other notable landmarks Downtown. The patio will also be equipped with its own bar. No doubt, it’s going to be a great place to grab drinks in the summer and have a great meal.
Pauline and her team are working hard to have the restaurant open by the end of June. No specific date has been decided yet, but we’re all patiently waiting that’s for sure!
