Double Your Impact This Holiday Season: Steve Robinson’s $1.25 Million Matching Gift to Osler Health System Foundation

December 27, 2023 – In a generous move that promises to make a significant impact, Steve Robinson, Chair of Osler Foundation’s Board of Directors and Senior Portfolio Manager with RBC Dominion Securities, announced a matching gift of up to $1.25 million at the 10th Annual Gala Benefit Concert – Music to Make a Difference. This holiday season, Robinson invites the community to join him in supporting the transformation of Peel Memorial into Brampton’s second hospital.

A Successful Gala

The Gala Benefit Concert, presented by Orlando Corporation, raised an impressive $510,000 for Osler hospitals, including Brampton Civic, Etobicoke General, and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness. As a token of appreciation for his philanthropic leadership, Robinson was presented with the Osler Corporate Philanthropy Award during the event.

Inspiring Community Support:

“I believe that advocating for health care is important to all of us,” said Robinson. “I am honored to do my part alongside my colleagues at Osler and its Foundation. Philanthropic leadership is needed now more than ever. I hope that by matching donations, I can inspire others to step forward in support.”

Ken Mayhew, President and CEO of William Osler Health System Foundation, expressed gratitude for Robinson’s leadership. “True leaders don’t just give; they lead. Steve’s incredible $1.25 million matching donation is so important as the community steps forward to help transform Peel Memorial. His generosity will create a ripple effect that extends far beyond his own actions.”

The Urgent Call for Support:

Donations made before January 1st will allow you to get a 2023 tax receipt while being matched dollar for dollar by Robinson, doubling the impact of every contribution. This means that if you donate today, your gift will have twice the effect in helping transform Peel Memorial and enhancing healthcare services in the community.

Community Transformation – A Second Hospital:

The funds raised will contribute to the development of a multi-storey tower at Peel Memorial, providing inpatient beds for longer hospital stays and anticipating future healthcare needs. The new hospital will not only enhance outpatient services but also house Brampton’s second 24/7 Emergency Department.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, who was in attendance at the Gala, declared “We are determined to raise our local share to build Brampton’s second hospital.”

Make Your Donation Count – Why Your Support Matters:

100% of the equipment in Osler hospitals is funded by the community. Your donation is crucial in ensuring that the best equipment is available when needed most.

Your donation, no matter the size, helps support quality care close to home. By contributing to Osler Foundation, you ensure that physicians, staff, and volunteers have the resources they need to provide compassionate care to the community.
