Looking for a great way for your children to stay engaged and have fun during the holidays?

This week, the city has announced that they will be hosting holiday camps for children at recreation centres during the last week of the year and the first week of next year. The rates rival babysitter charges, and there’s even before and after care available.

Camps with full-day programs are scheduled to run from Monday, December 23 to Friday, January 3, 2020. Programs range from basketball, children in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields, and dance.

Have a look at some of the many programs offered:

  • Camp Engineering LEGO: see the program below for age ranges. It’s a camp where kids get to flex their physics muscles by building their very own simple machines, with levers, gears, the works! They get their very own LEGO set to work with during the program.
  • Camp Gymnastics Cheer: see the program below for age ranges, this program focuses on flexibility, coordination and strength, for children to perform stunts, tricks and cheers.
  • Camp Basketball: see the program below for age ranges, this program is for basketballers of all skill levels. Children get the opportunity of learning technical skills and playing cooperative games with their peers.
  • Camp Skating: see the program below for age ranges, this program has great range from the wobbly beginner to the seasoned elite. Children get to learn and refine their hockey or figure skating.

To see these programs and many more programs run during this time, check out the full holiday planner program for a more comprehensive list and schedule of the programs offered, with fees included.

See more general information on the camps at the city’s website here, including camp lunches, and before and after care which will also be available. They are even hiring to join their team.
