In the coming weeks, as Brampton’s new city council meets for the first time, one of the things they’ll need to decide is whether or not to allow retail cannabis stores in Brampton.

Right now the City of Brampton is conducting a public consultation and is asking residents for their opinion on whether cannabis retail stores should be allowed to operate in the city.

The city is working with a third-party firm, Environics, to conduct a telephone survey. It’s expected to include 800 residents representing various demographics.

Residents can also have their say in this online poll which will be available until November 9 at 11:59 p.m.

City staff are expected to present to council on December 5 on the issue of retail cannabis stores in the city. The results of the survey will be presented along with other relevant elements.
