Brampton’s Festival of Literary Diversity (the FOLD) is back in Brampton for a fourth year. The FOLD Festival runs from May 2-5 at various locations around downtown Brampton.

The FOLD celebrates diversity in literature by promoting authors from marginalized communities. By presenting a diverse range of stories, FOLD hopes to bring writers, educators, and other literary professionals together with the shared goal of expanding Canada’s body of literature.

The festival is being sponsored once again by Audible and has expanded to offer even more events. You can expect discussions around specific themes, as well as workshops and classes to learn tools for writing in different styles and genres.

As always, this year’s lineup of authors is a diverse group. Authors Soraya Chemaly, Alicia Elliott, Cecil Foster, Knowmadic, Larissa Lai, and Ben Philippe will all be featured in panels and discussions throughout the weekend.

Events kicked off Thursday, May 2 and will run until Sunday, May 5 across venues in downtown Brampton including PAMA, City Hall and the Rose Theatre. Check out the full schedule of events here.
