Brampton kicks off the holiday season this weekend, with events and festivals for the whole family to enjoy.
The Winter Festival launches on Friday evening, with the festivities kicking off at Ken Whillans Square at 6:00 p.m. The event includes an address from the mayor and performances from local talent. It all culminates in the tree-lighting ceremony which happens at 8:00 p.m. The Christmas Market at Garden Square runs from Friday to Saturday.
The Santa Claus Parade in Brampton boasts the largest night parade in all of Ontario. The parade is this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Brampton residents and visitors line Main Street to see the floats and marching bands make their way through the core of the city.
You will even see Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. And who knows which of your favourite winter characters may make an appearance? Frosty the Snowman, or Frozen’s Elsa and Anna, anyone?
So come out all wrapped up and enjoy your favourite hot beverage as you and your family enjoy the spectacle.
Correction: this article previously stated that the tree-lighting was at 6 p.m. and that the market ran through Sunday.
