The Province is currently conducting a review of regional governments across Ontario, and it wants feedback on Region of Peel.

The Ford government announced late last year it would be looking for efficiencies and opportunities to remove duplication and red tape in regional governance. For Peel Region it could mean amalgamation, maintaining the status quo with some tweaks, or dissolving the region altogether.

There are two ways to provide feedback. Residents can do so in person at a consultation meeting on May 8, and the deadline to register is Tuesday, April 9. Those who register can offer feedback in the Peel Regional Council chambers at 10 Peel Centre Drive between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The province is also accepting written submissions through email or letter. There’s even an option to fill out a survey online.
