William Osler Health System said in a statement on Monday, November 16, that its COVID-19 testing centre at South Fletcher’s Sportsplex is temporarily closed for repairs after it sustained damage in Sunday’s severe wind storm.
Sunday’s wind storm left many Bramptonians without power in part because of downed trees and damaged hydro wires. Storm winds gusted around 100 kilometres an hour at times.
Osler’s statement said, “The health and safety of our patients is our number one priority and we continually strive to ensure we are able to provide timely, quality care to all patients who require our services.” It continued, “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure has caused. We appreciate your patience as we work toward resuming normal operations as quickly as possible.”
The next available appointments at the Testing Centre are on Wednesday, November 18, when it is slated to resume normal operations of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If the repairs are completed earlier, Osler says the Testing Centre will reopen sooner.
The statement said that patients whose tests have been cancelled can book another appointment at the South Fletcher’s site starting Wednesday, November 18 or they can try to book an appointment at an alternative testing location. See here for more information.
