The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Peel Dufferin has been helping vulnerable communities in the region with food, hygiene, and mental health support, as we reported in March.
Now the units have the added responsibility of helping these vulnerable populations in the fight against COVID-19.
TELUS Health has contributed $25,000 to CMHA Peel Dufferin to help in the fight against COVID-19 and to provide vulnerable communities with food and a safe place to live. They will also be granting CMHA Peel Dufferin with 100 mobile devices and $0 prepaid wireless plans to allow isolated, at-risk individuals access to vital social support services and the ability to talk with family and friends.
The mobile health clinics are now operating in 10 cities across Canada, including Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria, Kitchener-Waterloo, Surrey, Brampton, and Halifax.
