Tropical temperatures are expected to make an appearance in Brampton on Monday, August 27, and Environment Canda has issued a heat warning for the surrounding area.

A hot and humid air mass is expected to sweep into the area causing temperatures upwards of 31 degrees C, but feeling more like 40 degrees with the humidity.

Environment Canada is also calling for scattered thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and a mix of sun and clouds for most of the afternoon.

Environment Canda advises staying in cool places and keeping hydrated. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors are at a greater risk for heat-associated issues.
