The last week has been a rollercoaster for weather in Brampton with snowstorms and record low temperatures. Now the weather is taking another big turn.

Environment Canada issued a weather statement for Wednesday warning Southern Ontario residents of snow, freezing rain, and extreme winds.

The snow will start Wednesday morning, with accumulation between 3 to 5 cm expected, and that’s not even the worst of it.

Environment Canada says that a warm front is expected to pass through by late afternoon, turning the snow into rain and it may turn into freezing rain as the day progresses.

To make matters even worse, it’s going to be windy Wednesday afternoon. A strong southwesterly wind will be gusting throughout Brampton at up to 80 km/h.

Don’t pack away the cold weather gear though, temperatures will be back to frigid cold by Friday and well into the weekend.

As for Wednesday, you’ll want to wear layers you can take off as the day gets warmer and beware of slippery sidewalk and ice patches.
