Written by Lucy Maud Montgomery and published for the first time in 1908, Anne of Green Gables is about to celebrate its 110th anniversary and Brampton’s Historic Bovaird House (HBH) will be celebrating along with it.
HBH is hosting an Anne of Green Gables themed garden party to celebrate this Canadian treasure on June 24 from noon to 3 p.m.
To mark the occasion the historic site will have an afternoon of fun featuring popular games from the early 1900s, a scavenger hunt, and more.
A garden party isn’t complete without a treat — HBH will be serving liniment cake, ice cream, and raspberry cordial just like Anne of Green Gables herself enjoyed.
Everyone is also welcome to bring along a picnic and blanket to spread out and enjoy the beautiful garden and grounds around the Historic Bovaird House.
The event is free and no reservations are required. Historic Bovaird House is located at 563 Bovaird Dr. E. on the corner of Kennedy and Bovaird. Find out more at bovairdhouse.ca.
