Despite the unexpected ice storm, spring seems to have finally arrived in Southern Ontario, which means cherry blossoms are about to bloom.
Brampton has its own serene little trail of sakura, and while busy, Toronto’s High Park and Mississauga’s Kariya are worth a visit if you’re willing to wade through the crowds.
But if you’re willing to take a short drive west, there’s a beautiful little off-the-radar trail of cherry blossoms that’s totally worth a visit.
Spencer Smith Park in Burlington is home to a trail of beautiful sakura that’s nestled right by the city’s waterfront. The cherry trees at the park were donated by Burlington’s twin city Itabashi Japan.
The park is a gorgeous spot for a picnic, a scenic walk or even for engagement and family photo shoots, which should be noted require a permit.
Spencer Smith Park is located at 1400 Lakeshore Rd, Burlington, ON, and is just a 35-minute drive from Brampton.
