1. Hit the local outdoor skating trails

Brampton has some pretty spectacular outdoor skating trails, Gage Park and Chinguacousy Park being the most popular. There’s also the beautiful new covered outdoor rink at Gore Meadows Rec Centre. All offer a romantic setting and great selfie spots.

2. Snowboarding lessons for two

Before you’re ready to tackle the hills at Blue Mountain and Hockley Valley together, learn proper snowboarding technique in a fun and interesting day date on Brampton’s signature ski hill.

3. Feel the wind in your hair

If you and your SO like to feel the wind in your, how about hurtling down Mount Chinguacousy in a tube? Tubing is open all winter at the hill, weather depending, and it’s affordable at less than $20 for a few rides.

4. Old school tobogganing

If you can dig the old GT Snowracer or Crazy Carpet out of mom and dad’s garage, head on over to Major Oaks Park near the 410 on Williams Parkway for a nostalgic afternoon taking on the hill and enjoying great views of the valley below.

5. Explore local conservation areas

Brampton’s two conservation areas — Heart Lake and Claireville — are picturesque places for winter hikes and exploring. They’re beautiful, and if you’re stealthy enough you may even spot some wildlife.

6. Take a dip in a hot spring

Just around the corner in Caledon, a 20-minute drive from Brampton, is Millcroft Inn. The boutique hotel has outdoor hot springs, hot baths and saunas that are just beautiful. It’s a great way to chase away the winter blues together.

7. Dinner by the fire

The greens are closed for the winter but the restaurant inside Turnberry Golf Club stays open year-round. NINE18 has a delicious menu, and you can enjoy it all by a cozy fire.

8. Couples mani pedis

Do a little self-care together with a couples manicure and pedicure — basically the only way any of us can maintain decent hands and feet throughout the cold months. We recommend Fabin & Co, a boutique nail salon located in downtown Brampton. It’s quiet and by appointment only, so you and your boo can take in all the peace and comfort.

9. Escape reality at Ctrl V

You may not physically be able to escape winter but you can escape this reality for a little while at Brampton’s first virtual reality arcade. The arcade offers semi-private booths that you can book time in and enjoy their 50 different games and experiences. Some are multi-player so you can take on zombies or even explore Yosemite National Park together.

10. Sample imported coffee

If you and bae are coffee aficionados, you’ve gotta try the coffee at Segovia Coffee Company, one of the only independent coffee shops in Brampton. Their coffee has rave reviews — from locals and on Amazon. It’s handpicked and harvested at specific altitudes to get the right flavour, and you can enjoy it with a sweet treat from their selection of desserts.
