Brampton Woman Wanted in Connection to $500,000 Airline Ticket Scam: Police Arrest Male Suspect, Search for Female Accomplice.

January 27, 2023 – Two individuals, a 32-year-old man and a 44-year-old Brampton woman, have been accused of perpetrating a scam involving the fraudulent sale of 250 airline travel tickets.

According to the Peel Regional Police, the suspects misrepresented themselves as U.K. travel agents to gain access to a major European airline’s secure online booking portal between June and December 2021.

They then allegedly sold valid flight tickets to unsuspecting customers, but instead of passing on the payments to the airline, they kept the money for themselves.

The majority of the customers who purchased the tickets were from the Calgary area, and the flights were primarily to Africa.

The police were able to identify and arrest the two suspects, Adebowale Adiatu, of Vaughan, who has been charged with fraud over $5,000, conspiracy to commit an indictable offense, and possession of property obtained by crime, and the 44-year-old woman who is still sought by the police.
