With its close proximity to Toronto and some unique shooting locations, more and more television shows and movies are starting to shoot in Brampton.

Popular shows like Orphan Black, Hannibal and Beauty & The Beast have all shot here, as well as movies like Downsizing with Matt Damon and xx.

The latest show to shoot scenes in Brampton is Amazon Prime Original American Gods. The show (which was originally on Starz,) is based on the modern fantasy novel of the same name written by Neil Gaiman.

The show’s main character, Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is released from prison and soon after meets a strange man named Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). Shadow Moon soon becomes involved in a large-scale conflict between the old and new gods.

American Gods premiered in April 2017 and is filming its second season. It was nominated for two Primetime Emmys back in 2017.

The show films primarily in Oklahoma and Toronto. Some of the filming happened in Brampton on September 10 and 11 at the Williams Parkway Operations Centre and the City Hall Conservatory.

Season two is scheduled to premiere in 2019 so you’ll have to wait until then to catch a glimpse of Brampton on American Gods.
