The City of Brampton invites residents to revel in Family Day festivities with their loved ones and has organized an array of activities to facilitate the celebrations.
Recreation Centres and Programs
Generously sponsored by Tim Hortons, the City of Brampton is offering free drop-in sports, swimming, and skating programs at select recreation centres on Family Day. Residents can pre-register for these activities starting February 16, with registered programs such as swimming and skating lessons not scheduled for Family Day.
Outdoor Skating
Grab your skates and glide onto one of Brampton’s enchanting outdoor skating rinks and trails, where reservations are unnecessary, and skating is free. Skaters are encouraged to don CSA-certified hockey helmets for safety, and updates on rink hours and closures can be found at brampton.ca/outdoorskating.
Chinguacousy Park Family Day Event
Chinguacousy Park promises a day of wholesome family fun, featuring marshmallow roasting by the fire pit, DJ-hosted skating, scavenger hunts, fire truck explorations, and an array of carnival-style amusements between 12 PM to 4 PM.
Mount Chinguacousy Tubing

Splash’N Boots Show at The Rose

Show up an hour before the show – which start at 2 PM – to enjoy character meet and greets and colouring in the lobby.
Family Fun Day in Downtown Brampton
Head to Nelson Square Pocket Park between 12 PM – 4 PM for an afternoon of storytelling, s’mores roasting, and games, all free for Family Day revelers.
City Services
Most City offices, including City Hall, are set to close for the occasion. However, critical services such as Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-Law Enforcement, Road Operations, and Security Services will remain operational to ensure continued support for the community.
While enjoying the festivities, residents are reminded that Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule, and all Brampton Library branches will remain closed. Similarly, Brampton Animal Services will observe closures on Family Day, with Animal Control remaining available for emergency calls.
