DNA testing and genealogy searches have grown massively over the past couple of years. People are more interested than ever in knowing where they come from and what their heritage is.
Lots of people have completed tests, finding out some pretty useful information about where their families hail from, but what do you do after the DNA results have been received? The One World One Family conference can help you take your information gathering to the next level.
The conference takes place on Saturday, August 18 in Brampton and it will offer workshops from renowned speakers on how to search your family history and find family members from long long ago.
Speakers will include professional Genealogist Ruth Blair; James Leonard, from Peel Art Gallery Museum & Archives; and Henry Wellisch, a man who once escaped Nazi Germany and is now President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Toronto.
Workshops at the conference will include Tracing Your Indian Ancestral Roots, DNA Testing & Your Genealogy, Global Mapping, and more.
The conference runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 10062 Bramalea Road in Brampton. Tickets are $30 which includes lunch and materials to do your own research. Find out more about the conference and the full itinerary for the day by visiting their website.
