This month the Rose Theatre will be presenting a large variety of shows, performances, and workshops for people of all ages to enjoy. Here are seven upcoming events that will be happening at Brampton’s Rose Theatre in May.

The Festival of Literary Diversity: Publishing Workshop (ASL) – May 4 at 9:30 a.m.

Join two experienced editors, Anita Chong and Samantha Swenson as they discuss and break down pitching and publishing. Whether it’s to make the perfect pitch, talk about what your story will be about, or elevator pitches for aspiring writers and screenwriters, this will get you started on the right path.

The Festival of Literary Diversity: Fiction Workshop – May 4 at 11 a.m.

Canadian writer Sharon Bala hosts an amazing fiction workshop as she discusses how to write fiction, freedom and room for imagination, how to master writing and creating a strong story structure.

The Festival of Literary Diversity: Imagi-nation – May 4 at 9:30 p.m.

For fans of science fiction or for people wanting to write their own sci-fi/fantasy stories, acclaimed authors Whitney French, Larissa Lai and Waubgeshig Rice will discuss with an audience on how speculative and science fiction can help us uncover the magic of possibility.

American Icons – May 10 at 8 p.m.

Tribute artists come together as five of the greatest and most prolific American entertainers of all time: Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison and Franki Valli. One night only.

This is Brampton: B-Jazzed Presents the North with David Braid and Mike Murley – May 21 at 8 p.m.

Brampton’s most dynamic artists and musicians come together for a one-night-only event consisting of jazz sessions, hard rock concerts, hip-hop/R&B, and open mic nights, hosted by top promoters in arts and culture. This one is all about jazz with David Braid and Mike Murley.

Dancercise Recital 2019 – May 25 at 6 p.m.

Children and adults will hit the stage to showcase recreational and competitive routines in many different forms of dance in an unforgettable night of entertainment.

2019 Stars of the Festival Concert – May 26 at 7 p.m.

The Peel Music Festival showcases its top performers from this year’s competition. With a variety of singers, instrumentalists and speech arts performers, this concert should be quite an event.
