Brampton has two awesome farmers’ markets and there are lots of others in the vicinity, usually open on weekends.
But if you’re looking for even more places to get locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables, Region of Peel has a resource that can help.
The Grown in Peel guide outlines farmers and retailers in Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon that offer farm-fresh produce, meat, eggs, honey and more.

The guide features over 35 farmers and retailers across the three cities that residents can shop at, complete with a handy map.
“The Region of Peel is pleased to support its residents in improving their health and well-being by encouraging them to eat fresh, flavourful vegetables and fruit,” said Jessica Hopkins, the Region’s new Medical Officer of Health. “Our handy guide makes it easy and fun to discover the wide variety of produce grown in Peel so everyone can enjoy our locally-grown food.”
The guide also comes complete with charts that show when certain fruits and vegetables are in season so you can grab them at the right time, and information on the different varieties of apples, pears, and plums if you’re interested in learning more about what you eat.
The Grown in Peel guide now is available free of charge at participating farms and farmers’ markets plus Peel libraries, fairs, and municipal buildings. Residents can also request a copy by emailing growninpeel@peelregion.ca.
