The brand spanking new outdoor skating rink at Gore Meadows rec centre had its official grand opening this weekend, and city council just announced that skating will be free at the facility for the rest of the season.

The snazzy new rink is outdoors but is protected from the elements by a gorgeous timber and steel roof.

The structure is part of a massive expansion to Gore Meadows that also brought the community a swimming pool, rooms for fitness classes, an indoor running track, and more.

Usually skating costs $2.75 for adults and $2 for kids, which isn’t breaking the bank, but stuff’s always better when it’s free. So skate your heart out, Brampton.

The rink has a specific drop-in schedule for skate times open to the public, so you’ll want to check that out if you’re visiting.

Gore Meadows doesn’t offer skate rentals so you’ll want to bring your own, though there are plans in the works to start offering them in the future.

Gore Meadows rec centre is located at 10150 The Gore Road in east Brampton.
