A brand new bakery, devoted to cookies and other custom desserts, opens in West Brampton.
Cookies by Design, a U.S. franchise with more than 50 locations across the states, premiers with its first location in Canada, in our city.
Kathleen Bhullar and her husband Dharminder became the forerunners of the franchise in Canada, after they married and moved here from the U.S., and Kathleen applied to continue her business here, having owned a location in Woodstock, Georgia in the U.S. The Bhullars became master franchisees for the province, planning to open 10 stores in Ontario within the next five years.
Cookies by Design is known for their colourfully crafted and thematic cookies which are available for sale and made to order. They even run same-day gifts for fast delivery.

Their grand opening was on November 8, and their location is at 85 Montpelier Street.
