The City of Brampton is lighting up the holiday season with the much-anticipated return of the Winter Lights Festival, happening over two magical days on November 15 and 16. Proudly presented by Fieldgate Developments, this cherished annual tradition marks the official start of the festive season with a lineup of exciting, family-friendly activities that promise to bring joy and warmth to the entire community.

What to Expect This Year

The Winter Lights Festival is set to transform downtown Brampton into a winter wonderland, with a spectacular lineup of events that will delight all ages.

Friday, November 15: Tree Lighting & Miracle on Main Street

Kick off your weekend with an evening filled with holiday cheer! From 6 pm to 10 pm, enjoy a festive atmosphere complete with carolers, food vendors, amusement rides, and mesmerizing winter light displays. The fun will span across Ken Whillans Square, Main Street South, Wellington Street, and the City Hall Atrium, culminating in a magical tree lighting ceremony.

Witness the breathtaking moment when the 60 ft. spruce tree in Ken Whillans Square is illuminated with over 10,000 twinkling lights, courtesy of Alectra Utilities. It’s a must-see event that truly captures the spirit of the season.

Saturday, November 16: Winter Artist Market & Santa Claus Parade

The festivities continue on Saturday with a focus on local talent and creativity.

Brampton Winter Artist Market

  • Time: 11 am to 4 pm
  • Location: Brampton Library, Springdale Branch

Support local artists and shop for unique, handcrafted gifts at the Winter Artist Market hosted by the Brampton Arts Organization (BAO). Enjoy live music and free, festive activities that the whole family can enjoy.

Brampton Santa Claus Parade

  • Time: 5 pm
  • Location: Bramalea Road (Starting point: Bramalea Road & Central Park Drive)

Give Back This Holiday Season

While all events on Friday are free to attend, the City encourages attendees to spread the holiday spirit by bringing a new, unwrapped toy in support of local Brampton organizations, in partnership with the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation.
