December 27, 2023 – Last night, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) took action on Highway 410 near Queen, stopping a 22-year-old driver from Brampton.

The vehicle was clocked at a staggering 176 km/h.

The primary charge is Stunt-driving, an offense that carries significant legal consequences. In response to the reckless behavior, the OPP has imposed a 30 Day Licence Suspension, putting a pause on the driver’s ability to hit the road, and an immediate 14 Day Vehicle Impound, effectively keeping their vehicle off the streets for an extended period.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of high-speed driving and the importance of adhering to speed limits, especially given the foggy conditions at the time. The OPP is actively encouraging drivers to exercise caution on the roads, emphasizing the need for responsible driving habits to ensure the safety of all road users.

The Peel Regional Police caught another 22-year-old Stunt-driving in Brampton as part of their Operation E.R.A.S.E. last month:

The purpose of the police sharing these pictures on social is to show other potential speedsters the consequences of racing in Brampton.

With the many highways that run through Brampton, the OPP and the Peel Regional Police stand committed to keeping our roads safe, and they rely on the community’s cooperation to report and address instances of dangerous driving behavior. Drive safely, be mindful of speed limits, and contribute to a secure road environment for everyone.
