Freezing drizzle has been causing havoc on roads across the GTA today, and Brampton hasn’t been spared.
Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory yesterday warning of potentially hazardous driving conditions due to freezing rain and light snow.
Multiple tweets from Peel Police, Brampton Fire and regular residents warned of accidents across the 410, including a massive pileup of cars and trucks on the Southbound 410 and Derry Rd.
Police and first responders are currently on the scene. Some patients have been transported to local hospitals, but no fatalities have been reported at this time.
Peel Police is warning residents to steer clear of the highway tonight and to beware of black ice.
