With a surge in burglaries around the holidays, Peel Police are recommending residents dispose of their electronics boxes and packaging for high ticket items with care.
This advice applies in general, but even more so during Holiday gift giving and receiving.

If members of your household have received expensive electronics and other gifts this season, turn your boxes inside out and flatten them before putting them to the curb.
Without doing this you run the risk of alerting nearby burglars of the expensive new items you now have in your home.
If you want to be extra cautious, you can even take the boxes to one of the city’s local recycling centres yourself.
Brampton has two recycling centres, one located at 395 Chrysler Dr. and one at 420 Railside Dr.
