January 2, 2024 – Peel Regional Police officers conducting a routine R.I.D.E check in Brampton apprehended 18-year-old Justin McLeish on Saturday night, December 30, 2023, at 10:55 p.m.

Upon investigation of the vehicle near Steeles Avenue and Tomken Road, a loaded Glock-style firearm with a distinctive 3D-printed frame was discovered along with its magazine. The use of 3D-printing technology in crafting the firearm raises concerns about evolving methods in the production of illicit weapons.

McLeish, a Brampton resident, is now facing a series of serious charges, including Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Following his apprehension, McLeish underwent a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
